The Elixir of the alchemists has essentially the same ability to perfect any substance. When applied to the human body, the Elixir cures diseases and restores youth. The alchemists' dream is to attain knowledge of the mysterious Philosopher's Stone, or "that Elixir by which such wonders are performed".

Sorry, I had to make the obvious reference there. How does a Philosopher's Stone relate in the real-life legends of alchemy? Every time I see alchemy, I almost always see a reference to a philosopher's stone Comment by Allakhazam the cooldown is global for all alchemist recipes that require it, and even worse, its 48hour for all of them if you do arcanite.
Sound familiar? Grade 10 chemistry anyone? It was a Catalyst, the first formally discovered. They couldn't explain how it enhanced the transmutation yet wasn't consumed itself, so they assigned magical properties to it.

Comment by weylen This is by far one of the most useful 39 twink trinkets that have stats very easy to lvl up the proff to get and is very useful for druids, shamans, and pallys and probably more. Of course, as with other trinkets, I realized the possibility of not being able to stack them but without any information on this particular item, there was only one way to find out.
Don't waste your mats. I already had the mats in the bank so it was no biggie. Maybe this post will save somebody a gamble. There may be something that allows wearing more than one of the same trinkets, but I'm not aware of it.
I'd hate to see the Lance of Longinus appear in game somewhere and someone ignorantly accrediting it to Neon Genesis Evangelion. Past that, a lesser known factoid is that the Philosopher's Stone is capable of turning mundane objects i. Since gold is the currency in WoW, there could very well be some possible applied uses of this feat; that is, turning non-gold stuff, into gold -- or other useful, possibly alchemy related substances. Wikipedia also has this to say about the uses of the philosopher stone: " So much lore-related potential, so little application.

You do not need to be level 35 to create the stone, nor do you need to be level 35 to use it for making transmutes. Comment by Resorath The new Alchemist Stones can also be used for transmutes. They also do not require the Philosopher's Stone. You can safely toss away your Philosopher's Stone after making an Alchemist Stone.
