Are you a subscriber to Netflix? I believe the miniseries is on there. When you get to the last season you can skip the finale, though. Watch the mini series.
It is the start of the show after all. Also you can find my response to the viewing order of all parts of the series; movies, mini-series, web series, etc Watch the mini series later, it looks a bit "disiorenting" but makes things far more exciting. Keep in mind that things get better - the first two episodes of season one are outstanding. If you don't like those, you really won't care for the rest of BSG; it is a very melodramatic show, not to everyone's taste. They could have cut it down by an hour or so and not lost any story, but the atmosphere would have suffered for it. Either way, the TV series relies on that introduction. It cleared up most of my questions but there are still gaps between the end of the mini-series and '33' I agree.
She's a much better Starbuck. I don't know what people are thinking complaining about the differences between the series in '78 and the new one. I was pretty sore about this too when it was first announced. She totally won me over. One of his excuses was "How is Starbuck supposed to make out with Cassieopa now? I much prefer the new Starbuck too. For those of you who haven't seen the mini-series or missed some of the episodes, bear in mind that SciFi will likely show them ad nauseum until the new season starts in July.
Speaking of which, who else is completely on board with the idea of two shorter seasons during the year instead of having a giant summer break? I love it! I don't have cable TV. And I didn't know about that, uh, bt you know efnet, until a few weeks ago, so I've managed to see only a couple of the last episodes.
I'm a fan as well. I hate that television becomes unwatchable in the summer. I'm still working the next morning so it's not like I'm going out just because it's warm out. And arguably, the best form of TV to watch in this dark hour is the kind that offers up escapism and allows viewers to get lost in a completely different world.
The Battlestar Galactica TV series made its first appearance on our TV screens way back in as a two-episode miniseries before returning a year later as a fully-fledged sci-fi drama. The series, which ran for four full seasons, tells the story of the last survivors of the Twelve Colonies after a vicious attack by the manmade android race known as the Cylons leaves just 50, survivors out of a population that numbered in the billions.
All four seasons of Battlestar Galactica and even the original mini-series are available to stream now on the Syfy site.
